Ruth S. Waid of Rockford, Michigan passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020 at the age of 96. She was born to Paul and Carrie (Church) Jackson on July 3, 1923 in Cedar Springs, Michigan. Ruth graduated from Rockford High School class of 1941. In 1942, she married the love of her life, Russell C. Waid and together they had four children. Ruth retired from Sackner Products in 1985. She was a past President of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 3946. She enjoyed being with her family and friends, always making everyone feel welcome and was famous for her "Baked Beans". She was proceeded in death by her parents, her loving husband Russell, her sons Larry and Darrel, sister Judith VandeBrand, and brothers Bernard and Donald Jackson. She is survived by her daughter Pat Krucek, son Raymond (Michelle) Waid, daughters-in-law Sandy (Larry) Waid and Debroah (Darrel) Waid, nine grandchildren (and their significant others), twenty-two great grandchildren, one great great grandson, and many nieces and nephews. At Ruth's request, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral services. The family will hold a private burial at Elmwood Cemetery in Cedar Springs, Michigan. Due to Covid-19, the family will hold a Celebration of Life service to honor Ruth in June of 2021. Arrangements for this will be posted on Facebook prior to the service date. The family would like to thank Bishop Hills of Rockford, MI for the care, respect, and compassion they showed Ruth. Special thanks to Grace Hospice for all the help and care they provided.
