Jack Whitcomb

Jack Whitcomb, age 93, died on July 2nd, 2018 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence surrounded by family. Jack was born on April 9, 1925 in Kalamazoo, the son of the late Arthur and Roselyn (Knarr) Whitcomb. Jack enlisted in the United States Navy in 1942 and served aboard the USS Surf Bird in the South Pacific. On August 20, 1948 he was united in marriage to Donna (Miles) Whitcomb who preceded him in death on November 4th 2014. He retired from Upjohn in 1983 after working 34 in the pipe shop. Jack enjoyed many hobbies including farming, building and flying experimental aircraft from his farm, making wine and beer, and time with family. Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Robert and Ralph Whitcomb. Surviving are two sons, Kenneth (Sharon) Whitcomb of Allegan, and Michael (Donna) Whitcomb of Schoolcraft, 5 grandchildren and 8 grandchildren.
