Erdean Marie Lingerfelt

Erdean Marie Lingerfelt passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord on May 27, 2021 with a firm belief in knowing where she was going. Born November 26, 1929 to James and Rose (Shagena) Morell in Sandusky, Michigan. Known for her dark hair and dark brown eyes and beautiful high cheek bones. Her nurturing and loving qualities she shared with her children, grandchildren and the many surrogate grandchildren that came in and out of her home. She would become lovingly referred to as “Grams” by so many. She loved dancing with her husband Roy, fixing up and restoring houses, doing crossword puzzles, word search, reading a good book, putting together puzzles and loved watching “Wheel of Fortune.” Above all, family was everything, her touchstone and her heart. Dean grew up as one of sixteen children on a farm in the northern thumb of Michigan in a beautiful stone house the family helped build. There she was raised and surrounded by much love and a hardworking family. She would later move into town, caring for a local family and their children so that she would be closer to school and more able to complete her education and graduate high school. She would also go onto complete her degree for a license in cosmetology. Enjoying cutting and doing the hair of friends and family alike. She would eventually meet and marry her husband of fifty years, Roy Lynn Lingerfelt, who preceded her in death. They were blessed with six children. Together she and Roy enjoyed the wanderlust of travel, visiting out west as well as down south to Georgia and Florida. Finally, a trip on her own, visiting a grandson in Hawaii. She and Roy would go onto move and live-in various locations on the east side of Michigan until finally settling for a lengthy time in the city of Southfield. Erdean or “Dean” as she became known to many friends and family, would go on to work in many different fields and professions from selling BeeLine Fashions, shoe sales, waitressing and finally earning her license as a realtor, for which she worked many years enjoying meeting and helping people find the home of their dreams till she finally retired. “Dean” would go onto live in many more places in her late years, from Ferndale to Port Huron till finally settling in Portage to live with her son Karl and wife Deborah Lingerfelt. She was blessed with not only a large family of her own with six children, Rodney, Mark (Denise), John (deceased), Karl (Deborah), Lynn (deceased) and Kelly. She was blessed with ten grandchildren, Jon (Brandi) Lingerfelt, Ryan (Amanda) Lingerfelt, James Lingerfelt, Marie (David) Dewey, D.J. (Corinne) Janes, Brittany (Adam) Wilson, Anthony Vowles, Priscilla (Cody) Cauchi, Brant (Sean) Aubry Bajas; and nine great grandchildren, Mason and Aria, Tyler and Addalynn, Garrett and Maddox, Ava and Adam, Harrison and Kennedy. Oh, how she loved being a “G.G.” Much thanks to special friends Chris Ervin for going above and beyond for Tracy Arnold, for the love and support. Special thanks to all the wonderful nurses and caregivers of Hospice of S.W. Michigan for all their loving care and kindness, and to the folks of Care Linc Medical Supply for their compassion, care and equipment provided for S.W. Michigan Hospice. A memorial service will be held at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, MI on August 7, 2021 at 12pm. Following the memorial service a luncheon is to follow at Loccino Italian Grill & Bar, 5600 Crooks Rd #106, Troy, MI 48098.
