Services will be held on Friday May 5th at The River Church. Located at 517 Walbridge St, Kalamazoo, MI. 49007. The family will be there to greet you at 10:00 am and services begin at 11:00 AM. Following services, a reception lunch will be held at City Scape (directly above the Union Restaurant). Doug was a wonderful grandfather, father, husband, brother, uncle and, friend. His infectious laugh and mischievous grin will be missed dearly by all. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, working on classic cars and, traveling in his motorhome. He loved nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren and spoiling them rotten (though his cat Joker came in at a close second). He started his life with nothing and through hard work, excellence and integrity he and Deb defied the odds and built a successful family business for over 30 years before passing it to his sons. He will be remembered as a good man who was trustworthy and admirable, with a witty sense of humor that you couldn't help but love. Thank you for all the love, laughs, and wisdom and always being there when we needed you. We will always love you. Please visit Doug's webpage at www.avinkcreamation.com to view pictures, directions to the church, directions from the church to the reception, and reserved parking instructions. In lieu of flowers Doug has requested donations to Charity Water. 100% of all donations will go directly to the installation of a clean water well in a developing country. www.charitywater.org This is the link to the Charity Water, Doug's charity of choice.
